Such is not a legal requirement for US president, but there is no possible way that an illiterate person could be nominated , let alone win the election. Basic education is compulsory in the US so only a mentally handicapped person fails to read and write.
It's theoretically possible, as literacy isn't a Constitutional requirement. That said, it's extremely unlikely that an illiterate person would ever make it into the world of politics.
