What sort of musical instruments were popular during the American Revolution?

In the times of the Revolutionary War, the only music was live music-- no CD,s, no radios, nothing but whatever musical instruments they could carry with them.

Singing was the easiest . Bugles, drums and fifes(flutes) were used for marching, but did not provide music that one would like to listen too, I think. Perhaps some fife players played around the campfires. Soldiers mostly had to walk from place to place and carry all their equipment for camping and cooking -- musical instruments were not common at all.
