What does a viking long house look like?

Viking houses were made of wood, with the walls supported by upright logs. The roof would either be tiled with overlapping wooden tiles, or straw reeds. They had low rounded roofs, and vaguely resembled an upside down boat.

With a few exceptions Viking Houses were basically "Long Houses" with 30 to 50 people living in them as well as dogs and livestock in a room off to the side.
These long houses were built to resemble an overturned Viking Ship with the apex of the roof built like the keel with gentle sloping oval sides leading down to the walls.
The inside usually had a low bench running along both walls of the house, the floor was dirt and sometimes covered with straw that was probably not changed as often as it should have been.
As you can imagine with a large group of people along with numerous dogs and livestock living in the same large one or perhaps even two room house (if you count the livestock room) sanitation was poor or even non-existent by today's standards.
Still the Vikings managed to live in these houses quite happily.
As I said there are exceptions to the Long Houses depending on the location, size of family and time period but what I described above is the typical Viking Home.
Viking houses were built of wood, stone blocks or turf, with thatched or turf roofs.

There is a type of building called a Viking long house, and at least some Vikings lived in these. They were built of wood, had wooden roofs, and were quite large. Neither their sides nor their roofs were straight, and they looked a little bit like inverted boats.
