What is the difference between a regional and a public library?

A public library is library that the public can use to read, research and borrow books whereas a private library is a library owned by an individual or organisation/company which the general public would not normally be allowed to use. A public library will have a range of books for all ages and covering many subjects. A private library may have a wide range of books or may concentrate on a few specialised topics. For example a computer company may have a library of books about computers and programming which their staff can use.
