Life on Christopher Columbus's ships would have been very difficult. The voyage across the Atlantic would have taken weeks, and would have been extremely arduous. The close quarters, rats, and sea sickness would have been enough to make the crew consider mutiny, and many of them almost did.

The tribes of the Americas received the name "Indians" because the Spanish thought they had reached India, that's where they were going. Columbus wanted to find a new rout to India because the Mediterranean Sea in Europe was in the hands of Turks, Arabs and other pirates who attacked all the caravans who tradded with India and all those lands.
