Many students disagreed with the war and didn't want to fight. It never was a declared war therefore it was illegal and so was the draft. The second reason was much more simple they didn't want to die. The draft was forced on all 18 year old men and no choice was given to go or not. Today, a reverse draft has been going on because many men in the Iraq War have gone 3-5 times.
