The 16th of November 1885 is a good day to pick for the end but it was all over before that. The final battle could have been May of 1885 when Riel was taken prisoner, or maybe June 1885 during the Battle at Loon Lake.

But in many ways the Rebellion is not over. The West has never been contented in Confederation. That discontent has created the NDP, and some suggest the Conservative Government that is in power today, gave us our medicare system and may even lead to an equal and effective Senate or a new Confederation.
