Which company placed the first computer on the market?

All three of these companies are possible candidates as they designed computers and announced them for sale in the same timeframe. Other companies all entered the market after these three.

ERA established in 1946, sold their first computer the ERA 1101 (also called Atlas) to the US Navy in 1950.

EMCC incorporated in 1947, sold their first computer the BINAC to Northrup in 1949.

Both companies were purchased by Remington Rand (EMCC in 1950, ERA in 1952) and were combined with Remington Rand's existing electromechanical punchcard machine division in 1955, to create the new UNIVAC division.

After many additional mergers, buyouts, and spinoffs in 1986 the company became Unisys.
