Several countries of the Commonwealth like New Zealand and Australia volunteered for the war for many reasons. These reasons were duty, honour, peer pressure, influential propaganda, the seeking of adventure, a growing sense of nationalism, the lack of wars in the European area since the 1870s and an increase level of literacy in the soldiers that led many to romanticize the war.

As you can see, the answer to this question is in not simple. There are many variables and factors that contributed to the volunteering for the war.

The most influential factors would be duty and loyalty to the British Empire. Additionally, a growing sense of Nationalism in the colonies and the sense of adventure of many soldiers that led them to volunteer. Much of the Great War was romanticized during its initial years also due to high levels of literacy and propaganda.

A love of God and Country. A belief that the United States was worth defending and that it is every Americans job to defend her.

At that time the U.S. was not a world super power, we were still considered an upstart nation, Britains step-child so to speak. But the people were proud to be Americans and thought that this was the greatest country in the world. People felt that an attack on our country was an attack them personally. I guess a one word answer would be Patriotism.

The British soldiers volunteer to fight in World War one, because or Patriotism. however, some other reasons could be the that were put up by the government to motivate the soldiers to volunteer in the war. some also volunteered because of peer pressure from there and relatives. peer pressure was mostly applied on teenage boys or young boys by their mates or some boys even faked their age to show there how brave they were , however many lost their life because of the war and faking their age costed their life.
