What is the average price for a Christmas gift?

The amount of money that is spent on Christmas gifts annually is not known. It depends on how well the economy is doing and the amount of money people have to spend, and how much they use their credit cards to buy gifts. It is probably safe to assume the amount spent is in the millions of dollars or even more.

Some husbands and wives have gotten more into setting an amount, say 50 bucks or no more than 100. Others spend a great deal more because they save all of their significant gift giving for this time of year. Big needed gifts like coats or a new TV for their bedroom really don't count but often are bought because it is the perfect time of year to get these things on sale. Now when it comes to the children all bets are off. As a parent I went by the age 10 or less 100 or less, 125 at age 11, 150 at age 12, 150 at 13, up to 200...the limit. I would make some exception if it was a family gift or if the child was extremely deserving. Office friends get $10.00 and good friends 25.00 to 50.00, make you really carefully about who you are calling a friend huh?

There is no real answer to that. It depends on what is being bought. So it could be any price. Different people will spend different amounts. Some families agree to limits. People who can afford to spend more will do so. Others will have limited amounts to spend. There is no set price and even an average would be hard to come up with.
