Do stink bugs smell like skunk?

Okay, if you want to know what a stink bug smells like you came to the right guy. My house has them and they pop out once in a while. A few hours ago, I found one swimming in my toilet! I had two options here. I could get a paper towel, pick it up from the toilet and throw it outside OR I could just pee on him right then and there. I picked the second option; worst option I ever made. The moment I started peeing on him the smell was unbearable. I was about to puke if I hadn't used my shirt as a filter. Anyways, they smell like wood/rocks/burnt tires/dust/oil. That's the best way I can describe it. Hope I helped.

Adult stink bugs tend to be just over 1/2" in size. They have two antennae, and six legs. Their thick wings make buzzing, humming sounds in flight. The top of their body looks like a shield. They like to overwinter in houses. Outdoors, their frequent green, gray, or brown colors blend into the environment. But they can be spotted sucking the juices out of berries, small fruits, and vegetables.

Well, I was on my bed at the night. I put my hand like on my head, and I felt something. I crushed it, and when I smell my hands, it was really stinky! Yes, it does smell when they die. I strongly disapprove of you smashing a stink bug. :P

The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (the shield-shaped bug that is nearly as wide as it is long) smells very similar to skunk.

Though if you would like a more accurate description of the odor left behind, stink bugs emit an odor comparable to that of marijuana. The pot smell, similar to that of a skunk, is much less pungent and can often be almost herb-like. I've never smoked weed but I've been around it enough to know the odor.

And good luck getting rid of it completely. It has been a few weeks since I shop-vacced the stink bugs from my house, and friends still ask me if I've started smoking pot when they come over. I've gotten used to it, but I'm embarrassed by it almost daily.
