Yes, they are legal, but there are some restrictions you should know.

First, in CT the laws allow you to have an EDW (Electronic Defense Weapon) in your residence, your office, or any other non public places you own. For carrying it on person, you must have a written permission that you should ask for in the police department. Otherwise, it would be illegal to carry any EDWs with you.

Other thing you should know about this, is that the permits provided by local authorities are not state-wide ones, so (for example) if you get permission to carry the stun gun in Middletown, you wouldn't be allowed to carry it on elsewhere, just there.

Stun Guns are a good way to protect yourself without putting your family in danger. So you better ask authorities for it.

Ps. It's not hard to get the permission, unless you have criminal records.
