most dogs 6 months to a year most usally have there first heat cycle at 6 months although its not allways healthy for them to get pregnant this young you are better off waiting till they are a least 1yr old.
Your female dog can only become pregnant if she is bred while she is in heat. Normally the smaller breeds mature faster and come into heat around 5-6 months of age while the larger breeds come into heat at anywhere from 6-13 months of age. They will normally have a heat cycle every 6 months. I suggest you spay your pet. She will live a longer and healthier life. You will cut down her risks of unwanted pregnancies, mammary cancer, infections of the uterus, etc.

In general, it's better for the dog, and for her puppies, if you wait until she's fully mature before allowing her to become pregnant. Two years old is a pretty good age for her first litter.

Possibly. Some dogs will have what is called a silent heat cycle where the dog shows not clinical signs of heat. This commonly occurs on their first heat cycle, however since not witnessed, owners commonly think that the dog's first heat cycle is actually their second heat cycle. Thus if a dog was mounted and bred (which is in all honesty very rare as females will usually not allow mounting unless during estrus) during the silent heat, it could be a fertile breeding. So to answer your question, if a dog was bred prior to her first heat cycle, no she will not become pregnant as ovulation would not have occurred, if the mounting occurred during a silent heat, yes it is possible.

Yes, it's quite possible for a dog to get pregnant in its first year. But it should be prevented. They are still puppies themselves! Spaying a female dog at a young age (not too young) will stop a female dog from having the urge to mate, and will also stop her from going in to heat. Dogs who get pregnant in their first year often have less healthy puppies and smaller litters. Young dogs giving birth may need operation to get her pups out of her womb or at least, help with her giving birth.
