There are carpet shampoos and general spot treatment products specially made to remove pet odors from almost anything in your home. I've used most of them and they do work, however, you might need to increase the strength used depending on the circumstances. There are also products available you can use to control odors from dog poo in your yard. Febreeze is good like the other responder recommended for those in-between times. Bath your dog approximately once a month during the summer and every 2 months in the winter (do not leave them outside damp!) Then shampoo your carpets and "Febreeze spray" is excellent for dog or cat odors. I have 2 dogs and a cat and no one smells my pets. I am a veterinarian and have several pets of my own. I tried just about everything on the market. We recently tried a new product to disinfect our examining rooms and get rid of skunk odor that was left behind from a dog that was sprayed. This product works excellent! I highly recommend it. It's called Room Shocker. You can find it on a website called www.BiocideSystems.com. It will get rid of any severe order and the best part it comes with a moneyback guarantee so you can't lose.
If it's your pug's face or ears that are smelly, you ought to take it to the vet. I was having an odor problem with my pug puppy and it turned out being a yeast infection.
They are prone to infections in their faces, in that fold over their nose, if not cleaned properly. They should be cleaned with a cotton swab at least once a week.
continouos bathing and an expensive dog shampoo.
You could bathe him/her more often. And if that doesn't get rid of the smell, you should take your dog to the vet to make sure he/she doesn't have an illness or skin condition.
You would clean and vacuum the place thoroughly and use special spray for this. Febreze is one such example of a spray you can use.
Bring in a skunk
well this is one reason not how to get rid of skunk odor: tomato juice ( unless you want to ). you only think it works because when you smell it up close you can't smell the odor of the skunk anymore. but i think to get rid of skunk odor is to take a bath in SOAP! and LOTS of it!
Could try an oatmeal bath
Take a bath regularly, and apply lotion and deodorant after.
The acid in the tomato juice neutralizes the chemicals used to produce the odor by the skunk's butt!

Getting rid of foot odor is hard once it gets bad, but my mother used these to get rid of her foot odor: *Keep your feet clean! Cleanliness kills the bacteria that causes odor. *Keep your feet dry! Socks made of cotton are best to absorb sweat and moisture. *Stay away from garlic, onions, curries, chilis, and alcohol. These can cause foot odor, as well as bad breath.
best bet is to wear gloves !
