Why are dachshunds in iCarly?

Dachshunds are often referred to as “weiner” dogs. In an interview from 2012, it was stated all of the dachshund decorations are a reference to the Supervising Producer, Robin Weiner.

I can't say exactly why Dan Schneider chose Dachshunds to represent iCarly, but I can say that wiener dogs were the first dogs to be on the internet.Thier long bodies have an interesting form and a modern look that some people might think looks like a hot dog;and Sam loves Hot Dogs!
