Depends on how old the piercing is. If it's less than at least six months then yes, it will close in a few hours, if it's over a year and a half old it's safe to remove for a while and if it's several years old you could probably leave it out for weeks at a time, but remember that everyone's body is different and thus it could close in a couple hours at four years old, or it could stay open for weeks with nothing in it at a year.
Yes any piercing under 6 weeks old will tend to close if the jewellery is removed, cartilage piercings can be the worst for closing quickly so if you have no serious reason for removing the jewellery, leave it be. If it's a case of a change of heart and you no longer want the piercing ensure you clean the piercing before removing the jewellery then remove it and leave it alone and the piercings will close and the surface tissue should heal over the next 48 ~ 72 hours.
Cartilage piercings heal really slowly. Depending on how your body accepted the piercing, it shouldn't close up with just one day out after a year of having it in. There's a chance it'll hurt a little when you put it back, though, so just be sure to neosporin it up! You should be fine or one day.
yes
It depends on where it is pierced. The lobes can take about 3 months to completely close up, where your cartilage can take 6 months to even a year to completely close up. It also depends on how long you have had the piercing. A piercing that you've had for years can take years to close (in my personal experience).
Very quickly. You're not even meant to change the jewellery until 3 months, so it wont be healed properly yet. As it is cartilage and there is no blood, when you take the stud out the hole will start to close immediately and it may hurt to get the stud in after a few minutes, so it would probably only take about a week or so?
Well the piercings will not close up completely after that period of time. It can take a year or longer for piercings over a year old to shrink and close.
Yes and it will close with a lump on it.
Mine closed in about an hour, so depending on what you're wanting to take it out for, just watch the time.
Carefully
Have your piercer look at it and they will suggest a course of action for you.
I'd wait till your lobes are completely or nearly completely healed. Cartilage piercings take longer to heal and if your body is trying to heal your lobes AND cartilage at the same time, it'll take even longer for your cartilage to heal. So, 2-3 mths.
If u decide to take the piercing out, it will have a very small hole that u can barely see, then after about 2 or 3 months u won't even be able to see that u got it pierced.
it can vary but for some people the piercing can close up after having it out for 20 mins so you cant say really :s sorry
6 months
No. Bones usually take about 6 weeks. Cartilage can take years.
