∙ 11y agoHamlet greets Horatio as a friend, when they first meet. However it is important to note that considering how close the two are supposed to be, their greeting does not appear to reflect that. Hamlet isn't even quite sure of Horatio's name when they meet:
"I am glad to see you well: Horatio, - or I do forget myself." (Act 1, Scene 2)
