How do you get an egg from the daycare in Pokemon platinum?

Put two Pokémon in the Daycare Center that can breed with one another (see the related links for all compatible Pokémon). Then walk around until the Daycare man calls you and says the two Pokémon have made an egg.

Well, first you have to find a male and female Pokemon (they don't necessarily have to ge the same species) and put them in the Day Care together. The female Pokemon will be the Pokemon the egg hatches into; there will be no mixes of Pokemon EVER. So GIVE IT UP ALREADY. Then go outside and talk to the Day Care Man. He will tell you about the Pokemon that are in the Day Care. HERE'S HOW YOU KNOW IF THERE WILL BE AN EGG AT ALL AND WHEN IT WILL COME: if he says that they like to play with other Pokemon, there will never be an egg from them. If he says they seem to get along there will definitely be an egg. Any other statement would also mean there will be an egg. Answer "yes" when he asks if you want him to call you. When he calls you, be prepared and make room for the egg in your party. If you want more than one of the egg, pick up the egg and then keep the Pokemon that had the egg in the Day Care.
