Blue is a girl. " We made her a girl because we wanted the animated character to be the opposite sex of the live character. Since we always had the live character working off of a blue screen, we decided to call her Blue. We consciously went against the color stereotype.

Blue's True IdentityBlue is a GIRL. The Nick Jr. producers confirmed blue is in fact a girl. They wanted to fight the diversity and the segregation that boys are "supposed" to like blue and girl aren't, and boys aren't "supposed" to like pink like girls are "supposed" to.

If you watched the Macy’s day parade of 2019, you will see that the new guy hosting the show lip syncs a weird and cringe-worthy song saying “She’s Blue” Even Nick Jr. confirmed it. And yes, when I learned the truth, I was laughing. (More from the song than her gender lol).
