Can PlayStation 2 games work on the PlayStation 3?

the game will play and you can use the paddle, however the wireless guitar will not work on the PS3. i have heard there is some kind od adpater that you buy but i have not been able to find one

40GB, 80GB, or 160GB PS3s can not play PS2 games. NO MATTER WHAT. Do not listen to anyone that says they can play them. On the other hand, 20GB and 60GB PS3s can play them. Actually all ps3s can play ps2 games on them no matter what the gb. I have a 40gb ps3 and i play ps3 games on it all the time. But you have to go to the PlayStation Store and download the free ps2 content to play ps2 games on a ps3.

Yes it will work, don't listen to those who say it won't. All you need is to buy an adapter, they are easy to get on Amazon. Then plug one end via USB into the PS3 and your PS2 controller into the other.

If the aerosmith guitar is for PlayStation 3 than yeah it will work. But not i its an Xbox guitar or wii guitar.
