I can"t recall a female rabbit in the Bambi cartoon film. Thumper was male. Something of a one-animal forest alert system, when he thumps his tail ( a habit also known among Beavers!) Faline is Bambi"s female friend, but I cannot recall a female rabbit character.

  The above is wrong, Faline was Bambi's mate. Thumper's mate was never named in the movie and the voice credit is listed as "Girl Bunny".

Not sure why there is so much confusion about this...maybe it's age-related. Bambi's girlfriend/mate is Faline, Flower is the skunk, Thumper the bunny's girlfriend is Blossom. Guess you had to be there......
