Elvis Presley was grossly overweight, which caused a severe strain on his heart. In 1994 - 17 years after his death; Coroner Dr. Joseph Davis declared, "There is nothing in any of the data that supports a death from drugs. In fact, everything points to a sudden, violent heart attack."

There is little doubt that polypharmacy (14 drugs - 10 in significant quantities) contributed significantly to Presley's death at age 42, on August 16, 1977.

Elvis's physician, Dr. Nichopoulos, wrote more than 10,000 doses of sedatives, amphetamines and narcotics: all in Elvis's name in the first eight months of 1977 alone.
