I am not sure if the band is fully Christian... They are unlike other Heavy Metal bands. They do not send bad messages to their fans or through their music. Their songs are usually based on emotion of heart break, being in love and being judged for who they are. If you don't enjoy powerful instrumental music, then this band is not for you. What their name means or as how lead singer Kellin Quinn puts it, he wanted the music to sound 'watery' like the sound of underwater, so he thought of Sleeping With Sirens. He wanted powerful music with a beautiful voice and meaning.

While it hasn't been directly said, Kellin has said in an interview that they wanted a nautical band name at the time and 'sirens' (referring to mermaids) is something that appealed to the band.
Actually they haven't officially declared that they're a religious band, however Kellin Quinn is a Christian. Jesus in the southern sky was originally from a band he used to be in, For all we know. However on A-Z lyrics the artist of the song comes up as Sleeping with Sirens.
