Here is my overview of West SIde Story:

THe Sharks, a gang of Puerto Rican immagrans, and The Jets, a gang of all white Americans, are fighting over the west side (of NY). Meanwhile Maria, the Shark's gangleaser's sister, and Tony, an ex-gangmember of the Jets fall in love at the school dance. The two gangs decide to have a rumble to settle their problems. Maria and Tony deciede they need to stop the rumble . But when the Shark leader, Bernardo (Maria's brother) kills the Jet leader, RIff (Tony's closest friend) Tony kills Bernardo. Maria and Tony are extremely upset and decide to run away "where nothing can get to them". But when a confusion arises that Maria is killed TOny wants to die too. But when TOny realizes Maria s not dead it is too late, Chino, a SHark member shoots Tony.
