Nominal residential voltage is 120/240 volts. Not sure from you description if the plug is just rated at 230 volts or is supplying 230 volts (It is likely that the plug may be rated at 230 volts, but only operating at 120 volts). A typical hand held hair dryer would operate on 120 volts. A commercial hair dryer might operate at 220 volts, but must be plugged into a 220 supply.

There is 240 volts at the outlet not 220. People call it a 220 volt outlet but in reality it is 240 although you may only read 220 volts. They are really the same.

Yes. As far as in the US 220v and 240v is pretty much the same thing. People call it 220 but realistically you prob have 230-240v. Get a cheap voltage tester and check it out

what kind of voltage converter do I Need To Run A Clothes Dryer When I Just Have Standard 110 voltage In My Home ?

A step down converter will convert the voltage from 220/230 volts to 110 volts. Converters are labeled to display their capabilities, such as "110V to 220V Converter". Read the instruction manual for your Clothes Dryer and sketch the plug. You'll want to know the voltage of the clothes dryer --- it'll likely be 220 V. You need to visit a major appliance dealer and ask to buy a step down converter after discussing the plug type and voltage found in the owner's manual.
