Personally, I use radio to get the news when I wake up, microwave to make a
living and a quick supper, infrared to make my toast at breakfast, visible light
to get around the house without bumping into things or tripping over the dogs,
ultraviolet to put on a healthy glow in the Spring and Summer, and X-rays
once in a while in a controlled environment when one of my old teeth or bones
needs some attention. I am thankful for the thick blanket of air above me that is
virtually opaque to anything shorter than those.
