The Sun and Earth's Climate

The Sun is a HOT ball of gas (a star) located in the center of our Solar System; It provides the heat for each and every planet.

All the planets in the solar system rotate around the sun, but they don't rotate in a circle, they rotate in an elipse.

As the earth revolves around the sun in an eliptical path, sometimes we are further from the sun (which causes us to feel a colder climate) and sometimes we are nearer to the sun (which causes the climate to feel warmer). This process takes 365 days or one year (yeah, add in that whole leap year phenomena every 4 years )

In addition to the distance from the sun, there is one other major factor-

the tilt of the Earth's axis.

The Earth is tilted on an angle, when that angle is pointed towards the sun (while in its elliptical rotation) we feel warmer, when certain parts of the Earth are tilted away from the sun, we feel colder (a major cause of Seasons).

We're not done just yet....

The Earth Also spins on its axis - causing day and night (every 24 hrs).

It is warmer in the day when the sun ray's are shining and colder at night when it's dark.

WHY DOES CLIMATE DIFFER FROM PLACE TO PLACE BECAUSE OF EARTHS SHAPE?

Because of Earth's shape and the fact that it spins with a tilted axis as it orbits the Sun.

What is Earths sun?

Moon orbits around earth, which orbits around the sun.

What makes moon orbits earth?

Gravity. The moon orbits the earth because the moon is stuck in earths gravational pull.

How does the sun orbits oroung the moon?

The sun does not orbit around the moon. The earth orbits the sun and the earths moon (every planet has 1 or more moons) orbits earth.

Does the earths orbits once every 145 days?

No. The Earth orbits the Sun once in 365.24 days

How the earth movements affect climate?

earths axis is little tilted which makes its rotation different at different points of time. this change in rotation and the significant difference of distant between the earth and the sun affects the climate

How do the earth 4 season affect earth climates?

They don't affect the climate. They are a result of the climate.

What makes moon revolve?

the earths gravity holds the moon so it orbits the earth.

Why does the moon follow an elliptical orbit around the earth?

Because it is pulled in by the earths gravity and therefore orbits the earth.
