This is not true. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, in 2007, the mean annual earnings for registered nurses was $62,480 while the mean earnings for clinical laboratory scientists were $52,410. So while scientists make less, it is not by "about half".

∙ 16y agoI am a Medical Laborator Technician at a rural hospital medical lab in Iowa. I have been out of school for two years now. I make $17.10 an hour. I have found that most rural hospitals will pay more than inner city ones due since it's harder to hire people to live out in the "sticks".
