The outer ear first collects the sound then the middle ear amplifies it though the ear drum and finally the inner ear transports it to the brain.

the ear has three parts. they are the outer ear the middle ear and the inner ear. we find pinna,auditory canal and ear drum in outer ear.we find the three ear ossicles in middle ear.we find semicircular canal and cochlea in inner ear.now lets see how we hear.

first the pinna collects sound waves and direct in to auditory canal.In auditory canal we find wax glands which produces wax in order to stick pathogenes.the auditory canal directs the sound to ear drum(eustacian tube).when the sound wave reaches the ear drum, the ear drum will vibrate.this vibration will be transmitted to the ear ossicles(hammer,anvil,stirrup)the third ossicle stirrup will transmit the vibration to the oval window(openning to the inner ear)and the oval window will transmit to the cochlea.the nerve that carry impulse from the ear to the brain is known as auditory nerve.the bundle of auditory nerves are found in the cochlea,so the auditory nerves will take the impulse to the brain and the brain will interpret and there will be a sense of hearing.
