As far as is known to the public, the only space excursions that carried people to the moon

were the six Apollo missions that landed between 1969 and 1972.

The last astronauts to walk on the moon were two of the three-man crew aboard Apollo 17,

who spent 75 hours on the moon's surface, and departed it on December 14, 1972 .

The last Moon landing was Apollo 17 in December 1972. The full mission took place from December 7th to December 19th, with Eugene Cernan being the last man to leave the surface on December 14th.
