The brain, spinal cord, neurons and basically anything that can send message from your brain to the rest of your body like your nerves.

The nervous system has two subdivisions--the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.

The Peripheral Nervous system (PNS) is what the Central Nervous System (CNS) sends signals to move the body or control hormones etc...

The basic unit of the nervous system is the neuron. Sensory neurons carry information from sensory organs [such as the skin and the eyes] to the spinal cord and brain. Interneuronscarry messages within the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons carry messages from the brain and spinal cord to muscles and glands throughout the body.

The cells in the nervous system are called neurons. There are also accessory cells, which provide support to the neurons and are called glial cells, including oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, and schwann cells.

The structural and functional units of nervous tissue are neurons.

Neurons consist of a cell body or cyton from which several dendrites (thread like extensions) arise. The longest of these dendrites is known as the axon.

What type of tissue is the brain made of?

Brain tissues are made of neurons (cells) which together form nervous tissue. The brain is made of neurons, which are long, thin cells with tentacles that can be up to a meter long. There are also up to 50 billion other non-neural cells, such as cells that line the BBB [the blood brain barrier, which prevents encephalitis, or infection and subsequent inflammation of the brain].

General characteristics of nervous tissue?

There are several characteristics of nervous tissue that make them easy to identify. Nervous tissue is made of many cells packed closely together, and most are strongly branching. There are two main groups of cells: the neurons, and the glial cells. You will find nervous tissue in the brain and spinal cord, and in the nerves and their associated ganglia. Nervous tissue is the main component of the nervous system, which regulates and controls body functions.

Are inner linings of the body composed of nerve cells?

nerve cells are everywhere! for example, you get inched and it hurts. the pain sends signals to your brain. your brain then causes you to react...by saying OUCH!!! When the signals get sent to your brain, your brain tells them how to react...you bbleed, your brain tells the affected area to create a scab.

What is a group of muscle cells called?

What is an epithelial membrane?

the epithelial system is a system in your body. It is made from Skin cells. A group of skin cells make epithelial tissue. Epithelial tissue makes the epithelial system.

nerve cells make nervous tissue and muscle tissue is made up of muscle cells

The organs are specialized and are made of tissue formed by groups of specialized cells What kind of specialized cells make up the tissue of the heart?

There are three types of tissue that make up the heart which are collectively known as cardiac tissue. These three tissues are myocardium, endocardiu, and pericardium.

What is the relationship beween cells and tissues?

A tissue is a group of cells, therefore, a specialized tissue is a grouping of a specific type of specialized cells.

What cells are in the spinal cord?

The tissue in the spinal cord is composed of nervous tissue.

How is human tissue and stem cell similar?

Tissue is an ensemble of cells that make up the organs in the body. Stem cells are cells that can be transformed into any of the specialized cells that can be found in the tissues of the human body.

What make up nervous muscle tissue?

Muscle tissue made up of elongated muscle fibers, fibers that contract in response to stimuli. Nervous Tissue is made up of neurons and neurological cells.

What is the difference between muscle and nervous tissue?

Nervous tissue is composed of nerves containing neurons, specialized cells. Muscle tissue contains myocytes, which have completely different structure than neurons. Also, muscle is organized in many fibers covered by connective tissue; these fibers build up stronger fibers etc. Neural tissue has different organization.
