Best Answer

by getting out a ruler and measuring the matter of your choosing.

hope i could help. :)

Actually, matter is measured in grams-for mass. And liters-for volume. So, matter is measured in grams and volume because it is made of mass and volume...

Matter is anything that occupies space. We can measure matter 2 ways.

Method 1 : How much SPACE does the matter occupy. Measure its VOLUME in cubic centimetre by using a length measuring instrument . If it is an odd shape such as a stone, then put it in a FULL container of water, collect the amount of overflow of the water, and measure the 'overflow' in a liquid measure. If is 'spills out' say 80 ml, then it occupies a Volume of 80 cubic centimetre. (1 milli-litre is a cubic centimetre.)

METHOD 2 : Measure the WEIGHT of the matter. Weight is the name we give to the action of Gravity pulling matter downwards toward the earth. All matter has what scientists call 'mass'. Weight is created when gravity acts upon mass. Weight is measured by using weighing scales or an instrument called a 'Beam Balance'.
