Mercury is the only major planet without an atmosphere. It is able to hold some gases close to its surface, but not really enough to call it an atmosphere. Its due to the size of the planet being so small and lack of a decent magnetic field that it is unable to sustain an atmosphere.

What is the atmosphere of all of the planets made of?

air and gasses and for some no atmosphere

Is air between planets?

No, there is no air or atmosphere in the vast empty space between planets in our solar system. Space is a vacuum, meaning it is empty of gases and molecules. The thin atmosphere around planets like Earth fades into space as you move away from the planet.

What are all the 'spheres in space?

Planets can be analysed in terms of concentric spheres which include, the lithosphere (rock), the hydrosphere (water) the atmosphere (air) and so forth. The atmosphere itself is divided into several spheres, the troposphere (at the bottom) the stratosphere (at higher elevation) and the exosphere (the very thin air where the atmosphere meets outer space). Space is not divided into spheres, although planets and stars are spherical in shape.

What does dense atmosphere mean?

Thick air. Planets like Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus have a very dense atmosphere.

Does mars have more air than any other planet except earth?

No. If by air you mean atmosphere, the atmosphere of Mars is actually the second smallest of all the planets. Only Mercury has less atmosphere than Mars. If by air you mean an atmosphere that we can breath, no such atmosphere has been found on another planet.

What planets have water on them?

Jupiter is the one with the vapor atmosphere

Why is there is life on earth and not on other planet?

Is The Moon atmosphere of air and water like Earth's?

No, the Moon does not have an atmosphere like Earth's. It has a very thin exosphere that consists of small amounts of gases and particles, but it does not have a significant atmosphere like Earth with air and water.

Is the water in the air apart of the hydrosphere?

No, water in the air i.e. water vapor which is a part of the atmosphere not the hydrosphere.

What planets have nitrogen atmospheres?

Planets with nitrogen atmospheres include Earth and Venus. Nitrogen makes up about 78% of Earth's atmosphere and about 3.5% of Venus's atmosphere.

What causes water to condense in the atmosphere?

Water condenses in the atmosphere when warm air rises and cools, causing the water vapor in the air to change into liquid droplets. This process is known as condensation.

How does water get to the atmosphere?

it evaporates into the air over time.
