Four main steps:

  1. evaporation (from lakes and oceans)
  2. condensation (into clouds)
  3. precipitation (rain and snow)
  4. collection (or runoff back into rivers)

Six more detailed steps:

  1. evaporation
  2. transpiration (from vegetation)
  3. condensation
  4. precipitation
  5. runoff
  6. infiltration (into the ground)

Its a cycle, does not really have an order. However, if you do have to give it an order I would start with evaporation -> precipitation -> runoff

There is no real order to the water cycle, since it is a never ending cycle. Generally, we pose it as it precipitation, evaporation, condensation.
