Myths are usually about Gods or Heroes in the Greek or Roman tradition, although there are myths from other sources as well. Fables are usually folktales and involve magic, witches, and/ or talking animals. They are also traditionally focused on a child audience. You could probably say that myths and fables are subcategories of short fiction... short stories can be about anything, and there are no traditional guidelines, so a short story is wide open to any genre or content.
