Que haces means "what do you do?" So, it really depends on the context of the question.

'Que esta haciendo' = 'What are you (formal)/is he/she/it doing?'

You would respond by telling what you are/he/she/it is doing.

Clearly, this could be so many things, it is impossible to give a complete answer.

But depending on the relevant verb, and person:

In response to 'you', would reply

'estoy....' ( I am....) + the present participle of the relevant verb, e.g.

(from 'pensar', to think) '....pensando'; (from 'dormir', to sleep) '....durmiendo', etc.

In response to 'he/she/it',

'esta....' (accent on final 'a' + present participle of relevant verb, e.g.
