There is no internal conflict between Frankenstein and Monster. Frankenstein is the scientist that created the Monster, they are two separate entities and therefore can not have an 'internal' conflict, as this can only happen within one entity.

You can obviously see that Victor is tearing himself apart throughout the novel due to his creation. If he had never created the monster, Elizabeth, William, Clerval, Justine, Victor's father and Victor himself would all still be alive and happy. It is because of this that Victor cannot stand himself, which initiates his utter depression and self-loathing.

It practically a Science Fiction. the fact he is inthralled by science from an early age, and then the fact he creates the creature from dead bodies and chemicals, all point his knowledge of science.
