They wear boots with bells on them, that way, when they stamp on the ground the bells will ring and make music for people to enjoy.

All i know is gumboot dancing is south African ive seen it before and there were kids and adults there so i assume all ages can do it .
It is usually african style music. In there tribes they dance and make loud slapping noises as a way of rythum.
