Can friction be entirely eliminated?
Friction can be reduced but never elimated. ^_^

true!

The textbook answer is "no", but in a perfect vacuum and with magnetic levitation, friction can be eliminated, although resistance cannot. (imperfect magnets)

Friction can be decreased by any lubricant(oil, grease etc) applying on subject and object or in between.

Ball barrings can pave the way to reduce friction. While ice is also rarely used. As subtle magnetic field is one of the way to get rid of friction.(e.g. bullet train's connection with its track)
It is when the surface area in contact decrease.

No. Whenever two objects touch, even in the slightest degree, there will be friction. We minimize friction using lubricants such as oil or graphite, or by reducing the amount of drag that is happening; for example, using a wheel instead of a skid.

In theory, it could. However, due to the complicated nature of friction, it is rather unlikely to do so.

The only way friction can be completely gone is if you are not moving.

only in a perfect vacuum. otherwise there will be atleast some particles colliding during movement.

Can friction be reduced but never be eliminated?

not 100% sure, but i ges yes. only in ideal models can friction be eliminated but in real world, the frictional factor is not likely to be totally reduced to none i think

How did Salk's and Sabin's discoveries affect the advancement of medicine?

Polio was almost entirely eliminated.

What is the meaning of friction?

Friction is the resistance to motion (or tendency to such motion) between two bodies or substances in contact. Friction may either modify motion or entirely prevent it.

How can SCIDS be preventable?

SCIDS could be entirely eliminated by only breeding non carrier stallions and mares.

How long will it take for a car to travel 100km per hour?

Depend entirely on the amount of power and friction.

Do car brakes need lubricant?

Hi As a matter of fact they do. Not on the friction surfaces though. Break squeak can be eliminated by smearing a little copper slip on the back surface of the break pad to reduce friction, between the calliper and the back of the pad.

They are called the compulsory figures. Compulsory figures were eliminated entirely from international competition after 1990

What causes friction in cars?

The same thing that causes friction everywhere. When two things that are in contact with each other are trying to move in different directions, the surfaces can't slide by entirely perfect, they will hook on and grab each other a bit.
