One of the most widely wind turbines, for example, consists of 116-ft blades atop a 212-ft tower for a total height of 328 feet.

Nuclear power stations range in size. Some of the smaller ones operate at outputs of well below 1000 megaWatts (mW). Most nuclear stations are in the range of 1000 mW to 5000 mW.

Physically, they have some large buildings. Reactor buildings and spent fuel buildings may be in the range of six to twelve stories. Cooling towers can be much bigger, though not all are vertical. The land they stand on can be of considerable size, on the order of several to many city blocks in size.

The average nuclear power reactor in the US has an output of about 1000 MWe. This is for the 104 presently operating ones, new ones may be larger. The size of an area that consumes 1000 MWe varies considerably from heavily populated areas with industry, to lowly populated areas, so you can't put a single figure to it. 1000 MWe would supply 100,000 homes at 10 KW per home, or 500,000 homes at 2 KW per home which is probably more like the average consumption per home. Nuclear stations are usually operated as base load, that is at or near continuous full power, because the fuel costs are lower than for fossil fuels, but you can't separate differently produced electric power, it all comes through the same distribution system. In any particular area the grid controller will want to keep more than one source running, as nuclear units (and indeed others) sometimes suddenly shutdown unexpectedly. Therefore what you get in your home is always going to be coming from more than one source.
