Sociology and psychology both study human behavior but from different perspectives. Sociology focuses on how society shapes individuals' behaviors and beliefs, while psychology examines individual mental processes and behaviors. They can both complement each other in understanding human behavior within the context of both society and the individual.

Psychology may be defined as the study of the human mind, behavior, emotions and memory that help achieve 3 main goals, namely;

1) Understanding human behavior

2) Explaining that behavior by taking into account environmental and individual factors

3) Predicting what factors could result in such behavior in the future. This will help improve the quality of life for each individual.

Sociology on the other hand deals with groups of individuals and how their behavior, emotions and memories change due to the actual or implied presence of others. These factors are also greatly influenced by cultural and social implications.

Psychology and sociology are related to each other in the sense that without psychology, the sociology of a group cannot be determined. It essentially helps understand the behavior of a group which would help improve civilization as a whole
