Why do good people do bad things?

We can have a weakness that shows under some kinds of pressure. At such times we may be mean and cruel and do things we regret and try to forget.

God created man on his image. He breath and all of a sudden we had life. But eventually He forgot to touch the heart of some. Those who are touched became good and those not became selfish and bad. He put his touch to the one who bear them,our parents. They are the ones nurturing us with the way God want us to be. To live God in the center of our life. Still God had hopes for us, still had faith that one day we all find the way, that those who are lost are so closed to be found. That one day the bad became good and we won't lose our faith as He won't lose His faith for his sons.

Humans are social animals and it benfits the community as a whole for individuals to cooperate and not harm other members of the society in any way. We learn good from bad as a child and are instructed to "be good". Eventually a conscience forms and becomes an automatic guide in later life. People are programmed to do good. Those who have not developed a strong conscience also benefit from offers of reward and punishment: from peers, employers, police or religious leaders.

Selfish people can choose to be bad, ignoring their consciences and even the punishments they know could await them. Others suffer from mental conditions such as psychosis and become "programmed" as bad individuals. The craving for drugs also plays a part in criminal behaviour.
