I don't think it's actually wrong per se. I mean just to visit, it's fine, and can be a very educational experience. You see I'm a baptist, and I go to a Catholic school, and get to know how they see things, and I invite my friends to come to Wednesday night Bible school. Neither of us has any plans of converting to the other's domination, but its still a good experience.

Many people believe you go to church to worship, to be encouraged, to receive instruction, receive food for thought, to be reinforced, and to fellowship with other believers. This is true. However, the main focus of the Catholic Liturgy is to receive the Body and Blood of Christ through the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Protestant services do not provide this. While some on the surface look like they do, they believe that their communion is merely symbolic and not the actual Passover Feast/Mass in which the actual Body and Blood of Christ is mystically given to Catholics. In addition, protestants do not have Apostolic Succession - the ability to trace the priestly lineage back to Christ Himself. Pope Francis was ordained by John Paul II, who was ordained by John XXIII, and so on and so forth back to St. Peter who was ordained by Christ - it is an unbroken lineage.

Roman Catholics may attend a Baptist service for a good reason, such as a wedding of a friend, they may not, however, actively participate in the service. The reason is that Baptists are protestants - they were formed in protest to the Church of Christ, and their whole theology is deficient in regards to Christianity as understand by the Church. To participate in a Baptist service is to repudiate Catholicism and risk excommunication from the Church, which is the only normal means of salvation established by Jesus Christ. Why anyone would wish to throw away the only means of salvation established by Jesus Christ to attend a service in an ecclesial community established by John Smithe in the 17th century is rather an open question.
