If you mean Taoism, which I assume you do then maybe detachment from the human world- but this assumes the attainment of some form of enlightenment in order to cause the detachment.

People in general don't like hearing that love is the answer to all problems, immersed as they are in petty squabbles and one-upmanship. Visions experienced by those advanced in spiritual practice pretty much match the symptoms of schizophrenia, so discussing the inward aspects of your experience with old friends who have not chosen the Way is likely to produce worry in close ones who believe you have "gone mad", accusations of "fairy tale bullsh*t" from acquaintances with no love in their hearts, or just blind ignorance. Increased awareness in a world full of suffering and iniquity is not a pleasant thing to experience, as people are programmed in secular societies to just ignore it. Taoism is not a religion per se, more a philosophical window on existence, which leads to a greater understanding of how time and the universe function as a whole, similar to Zen Buddhism- both tend to be more conducive to a hermitic lifestyle.
