The Bible doesn't specify. However, it needs to be understood that Satan didn't "fall" all by himself, but that he:

"...was thrown down to the earth WITH ALL HIS ANGELS." (Rev.12:9 NLT New Living Translation)

It should therefore be assumed that the entire world was impacted... not just "one small location."

This powerful "impact" of that angelic army in the beginning explains the enigmatic passage in Genesis 1:2 that so few people seem to notice or question:

"And the earth was [or became... the inspired Hebrew word 'hayah' is a form of the verb 'to be'] without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the DEEP [the WATER that was covering the earth for some odd reason]."

This same "state of being" verb [hayah] that's translated into English as "was" in Genesis 1:2 is translated "became" in Genesis 2:7; where "...man BECAME a living soul..." or [creature].

In other words: "man WAS a living soul, because he BECAME that way" as the result of the impact of an outside source [God inflating his lungs with the breath of life] . And, likewise, "the earth WAS without form, and void, because it BECAME that way," resulting from the impact of an outside source [Satan and his angels being cast down to the earth].

Few people bother to consider [or believe] that our All-Powerful, Perfect, Eternal Creator is incapable of creating anything "imperfectly." They assume... because of the wording of the English translation of this passage where the verb merely states that the earth WAS [without form:]; that it was "lying waste, a desolation; a vain, deserted, worthless thing [Hebrew: 'tohuw' - Strong's Definitions]." And [void:]; an "empty, mindless, vacuous, indistinguishable ruin [Hebrew: 'bohuw' - Strong's Definitions]."

Most people "assume" that God MADE the earth that way... imperfectly... instead of the earth "being" in the form it was in due to another form of the verb "to be." Not that the earth WAS without form and void at the time of creation... but that: the earth, following God's Perfect creation of the universe... including the earth in Genesis 1, verse 1... that it BECAME that way -- sometime afterward [no time frame is disclosed in the account up to this point] -- as a result of the "global impact" on the earth of a mighty army of wicked, rebellious, defeated "spirit beings" who had [and have] the power and capability to wield all the laws of nature itself, were cast down upon the earth by even MORE POWERFUL ANGELIC FORCES!

Genesis 1:2 reveals [to those with the eyes to see; in conjunction with other biblical passages] that the entire earth was affected by that mighty impact back in the beginning. It suggests... because the entire earth was dark [God is Light, not Darkness - "This is the message He has given us to announce to you: GOD IS LIGHT and there is no darkness in Him at all." - I John 1:5 NLT] and covered by water [the deep]... that the earth BECAME a ruined mess, later. It wasn't created that way in the beginning.

And Satan's impact on the earth from being cast down upon it [along with the ONE-THIRD of God's "innumerable company of angels" {Heb.12:22} who followed him - Rev.12:4] RUINED THE ENTIRETY OF THE PERFECT EARTH GOD HAD MADE originally in verse 1.
