Luke 2:13 says it was "a multitude of the heavenly host...". They are also called "angels of God" (Gen. 28:12),"His angels" (Ps. 103.20), and "ministering spirits" (Dan. 7:10, Hebrews 1:14).
The Bible, Torah and Quran state that Angels were the first to sing this.
In the Bible, it is in Luke 2:14.
Angels from heaven.
Glory to God in the highest is a phrase commonly used in Christian worship to acknowledge and praise the deity. It reflects a sense of exaltation and reverence towards God, particularly in the context of divine worship and adoration.
The translation is "to God in the highest." For example, when someone says "Gloria in excelsis Deo" they are saying "Glory to God in the highest."
It means: Glory in the highest to the Lord
In Luke 2:13-14, it states a angel with a heavenly host "praising God and "saying" "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. To my surprise, it does not say "singing." Praise means to extol, pay tribute to, highest exaltation, but it does not mean to sang.
"God in the Highest", as in "Gloria in excelcis Deo", meaning "Glory to God in the Highest".
It means GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST.
Quite simply, Glory. Gloria in Excelsis, Deo (in Latin, and my latin is not great, so my grammar might be out... ) - is Glory in the highest, God.
The chapter and verse in the NIV bible that delcares gory to god in the highest is psalms 19:1. A more complete quote is "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmanent sheweth his handywork."
It means: Glory in the highest to the Lord
