I don't believe that is ever explained.
The nearest I can come to an answer is that he waited until John the Baptist began to baptise people.... In the King James version, Matthew 3:1 says
Mat 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
... there is no other 'introduction' to the baptism.
I think it is generally accepted that Jesus 'began' his mission at the Marriage Feast of Cana - which is only recorded in John's Gospel, the only one which makes no mention of his baptism.
Back then, people were not baptized as babies. They were baptized when they were adults so that it was their own decision and commitment to God. Many churches still work like that today, and many people are baptized as adults.
As for why Jesus was baptized at precisely 30, I suppose it had something to do with God's timing.
Because his father told him - he did only what God told him or showed him to do; as he said:
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John 6.38)
Because God, his heavenly Father ordained it.
Jesus got baptised when he was about 30 years old , it was done by John the Baptist in the river Jordan.

Jesus came to John to be baptised shortly after he turned 30 years of age and he bagan his ministry at that time. He was executed when he was aproximately 33 1/2 years old, so his ministry lasted for aproximately 3 1/2 years

In the bible Jesus comes to John , and asks to be baptized, but John says that Jesus should baptize him instead. In the end John baptizes Jesus in the river Jordan, and Jesus was 30 odd years then.
About 30 years old Luke 3:23. So, Jesus started the ministry for 3 and half years. He died age 33 years old.
Theologians believe that Jesus began his ministry when he was about 30 years old and that would have been the time he would have selected his disciples.
