Sapiens in Africa in the Middle Paleolithic about 200,000 years ago. If you include the archaic predecessors (Homo heidelbergensis, Homo rhodesiensis, Homo neanderthalensis and sometimes Homo antecessor.) this could be extended further back to 500,000 years ago.

All of these evolved from our common ancestor with the apes.
