There are two ways in with the sick may receive a blessing. The first may be given by anyone who has faith in Christ, for He is the giver of all blessings. A father may bless any member of his family, this is called a Patriarchal Blessing, a mother may also give a Matriarchal blessing. These blessings are done in the household of faith. The other is done by one who holds the authority to anoint with consecrated oil, set apart for the soul purpose of anointing. After the anointing a blessing is given by one who holds the authority to perform such a blessing.
