A:Religions where the followers feel they are in a position of power tend to proselytise, while those dominated by a more powerful religion tend to abjure proselytising. A prime example of both positions is Judaism, which was a strongly proselytising religion during the early Roman Empire, but ceased active recruitment of converts when Christianity became dominant. Zoroastrianism became very inward looking and unwilling even to accept willing converts when it fell under the domination of Islam.
